The Latino Connection has been established to help connect businesses of all sizes, grow and expand into the various multicultural and bilingual (Spanish speaking) communities that we live in. We also want the The Latino Connection to be the central place where Latinos/Hispanics go when seeking resources, news, and information as it relates to our community.
There are roughly 54 million Hispanics living in the United States, representing approximately 17% of the U.S. total population, making people of Hispanic origin the nation's largest ethnic or race minority.
Among Hispanic subgroups, in 2012, Mexicans ranked as the largest at 64%. Following Mexicans were Puerto Ricans (9.4%), Salvadorans (3.8%), Cubans (3.7%), Dominicans (3.1%), Guatemalans (2.3%),and the remaining 13.7% were people of other Hispanic or Latino origins.
Pennsylvania ranks #13 in the nation in total Hispanic population with over 750,000 residents of Latino/Hispanic origin.
22% of persons of Latino/Hipanic origin lack health insurance in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
